I sometimes feel guilty when I walk through a pristine snowy landscape for marking it with my footprints. The last thing I’d want is to find an area criss-crossed with footprints when I wanted to scour that area for prints or take a few winter scenery photos. I try to be careful and maneuver around an area in a way that minimizes what I leave behind. I also don’t want someone else coming along, one of those discourteous walkers perhaps, and following after me for fear that new well-used trails will appear where I don’t want them to.

Looking all around, and being careful where I left my own prints, this set of prints was the second largest I found. They looked good for fox. Most prints showed no detail at all - they were getting old, but those that did showed enough detail for me to conclude that they were dog, and since there were no signs of domestic dogs this far from the main trail I think these prints are good for fox. I may not have found coyote like I hoped, but this was just as good a find for me. The next largest prints I found, and found in abundance, were Wild Turkey.
