Gravel and dirt is the only thing in the middle of the camp surrounded by grass that is 6 meters wide. NO one is allowed on the grass, even SS guards. Anyone stepping on the grass will be shot by guards inside the towers.

All prisoners were told to wear their hats. Prisoners without their hats were punished heavily. SS guards will remove prisoners hats and throw it inside the perimeter green grass. Prisoners who wish to escape punishment have to run to get the hat and hope that the guards inside the tower are not accurate.
