Baler Aurora

The historic Church in Baler Aurora was where the Spanish Soldiers made their last stand before they surrendered to the Filipino revolution forces. The last fifty Spanish soldiers were sent back home to Spain after they surrendered and they were given a hero's welcome in Madrid.

It took us around nine hours of slow drive from Manila to Baler Aurora. We used a 4 wheel Mitsubishi Strada to cross rivers because of impassable bridges and rough roads along Sierra Madre Mountain. We stopped along the way to shoot some pictures so all in all, it should take only around 8 hours.

But weather in Baler was not too cooperative and we got dismal pictures from the poor showing during the magical hours (sunrise/sunset). Nevertheless, these were some of the pictures captured during the 3 days stay in the historical Baler Aurora.
