The ancient capitol of Thailand (about two hours by car north of Bangkok) until it was destroyed by the Burmese around 400 years ago. The Burmese used canons to burn down the entire city of Ayutthaya. Today, Ayutthaya is a national museum shrine and tourist flocks to this ancient city to re-live Thailand's past.
