It's still a clear shot, but I think I understand where you wanted to go with it. If so you may need to go back a bit and crop later. I think what's getting you here is just how close you are to the table. What I've found, and I don't know whether it agrees with theory or not, is that of the three factors contributing to DOF (focal length, AV and distance to subject) the third one is far and away the one that will shrink it down more than the others.
