In the middle of the month was the biennial family reunion, this year at Galveston, TX. After that Nancy and I, trekked to the Annual International Studebaker meet, this year at South Bend, IN. The most exciting events of the meet were the Friday Antique Auto club tour and, on Saturday, the caravan of 150 Studebakers with complete police escort to the former Studebaker Proving Grounds and the 3 1/2 mile banked oval test track, where we were joined by about 25 more Studebakers and Packards waiting to streak around the track.
