Well, I’m back home. If you’d like to hit the “next” link a few times, you can review all the PaD’s I’ve accumulated over the last couple of weeks. Its been an enjoyable, if exhausting time.

I'll get round to everyone elses recent images over the next few days.

I’ve compiled a few lists of Five

5 Great things about Egypt
Abydos Temple – a treasure so far undiscovered by mass tourism
The River Nile – The river itself, and the effect it has on the populations life
Pyramids – all 90+ of them, not just the “Great” Pyramids
Abu Simbel – Stupendous structure, and the recovery effort is just as impressive as the construction
The Desert – Empty Space and peace

5 Not so Great things about Egypt
Building Standards – or lack of them
Pollution and Noise – Traffic pollution over the cities, especially Cairo and Luxor, is awful. Rubbish problems abound.
Hassling anyone who looks non-Egyptian – it does get somewhat tiresome
Overcrowding in the cities
Suffocating security for non-Egyptians – I understand why, but surely bullying past the ordinary Egyptian is just going to increase resentment?

5 things I must stop myself doing now I am home
Haggling over the price of everything in shops
Sounding car horn every two seconds
Sleeping with earplugs in
Paying someone else to use the toilet every time, whatever the state of it is
Throwing used toilet paper into the bin across the room…
