Yarner Woods

Saturday 21st May - Day 154

If you go down to the woods today..... a pleasant 3 hours away from the cup final spent in Yarner woods. I was taken by this tree wound and how it appeared a bit face-like.

I've a few more to edit, but I'll post them tomorrow... the Aerosmith look-and-soundalikes representing Norway in the Eurovision song contest have already had me in stitches - its less painful than the howling wind and rain outside, thats for sure.

Nice healing process if not for the gaping hole :>)

Nice find. It does look like a face looking back at you. Might be scary to run across alone in the woods!

I like how the leaves and branches seem to fan out from the wound ... very nice! And yes, we were vastly entertained and bemused by Eurovision! :)

Great detail - like the viewpoint that lens gives.

The "motion blur" is caused by the breeze - even though this was deep in the woods, there was still some wind blowing around today

I love those lines in this tree and how you can see faces within them. Very nice caption.

Interesting shot, I guess it's the wide angle that makes for almost a motion blur effect.

I love the strange "faces" one finds in trees.

Beautiful shot Lee. My niece is mad about Eurovision but since we are not with her today, we are spared.

Interesting tree...very good detail! What is it about Eurovision that we're compelled to watch it. The Norwegians made me laugh too!

Howling wind and rain outside? This shot is great. Does look like a face. Shows how a tree heals itself, too.
