Sunset at Sourton

Tuesday 22nd February 2005 - Day 66

My face feels frozen! That isnt just from standing on the edge of Dartmoor taking photos this evening, but walking to and from the car, popping my head out the window, all those sorts of things.... I think the feeling I have now is the warmth getting back into my cheeks!

I wanted to capture a sort of distant view this evening, by using the tele zoom, I was able to isolate details on the horizon. Despite the cold, this warmed me up no end:)

A couple of other images from this evenings shoot (or maybe red x's :) )

Nikon D70 ,Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6D ED AF
1/160s f/11.0 at 165.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium large auto

Just seen this one - it's gorgeous, I love the tones in the sky and the really simple silhouettes! (did I spell that right?)

What a beautiful sky.

Fantastic colors in the sky. I tend to think of sunset shots (mine, anyway) as 'gimmies' - I just happen to be there to see the wonder of it, camera in hand. This, though - the set up is excellent. I like the expanse of sky and silhouettes. The color and slight haze to it immediately reminded me of a shot of Africa. Very very nice, Lee.

Beautiful soft colors!

Like Sylvia, it does make me think of Africa...the sparse trees & their shape perhaps. I like your vast expanse of sky that holds so many shades. Thanks for dropping by my PAD gallery, Lee.

This looks like it was taken somewhere a lot warmer than it was in the UK today, lovely warm colours.

::cringes::I must be today in my critical mood, so just forgive me for my input here. I like the waste as well, but I get the feeling that the sky is overpowering in this image. I love the warm colors of that sky, but in my opinion I would have liked to see just a tad more of the earth in contrast, just a weee bit.

This is nice. Sort of reminds me of one of my fog pictures.

incredible effect with a 165 mm as focal length, and this warmed color makes me think it's Africa, a summer day ;-)
