Wallace

Wallace, Idaho

I spotted this older model orange car as we approached this cross street--we were walking a quick loop
thru town looking for photo ops. I snapped this shot off with the plan to desaturate the building
behind just leaving the bright orange of the car. I ended up slightly desaturating the car too, since
the original color was too overpowering for the shot. I'm not normally a big fan of selective color,
so your thoughts on whether or not the selective color works or not would be greatly helpful and appreciated.

Barbara, the desaturation approach on this particular composition works for me. The gray vertical and horizontal lines of the building make a perfect contrasting background to the orange sloped lines of the auto. Nice work!

I like the selective colour! You have two elements to show here. To me the building just screams b&w to show off the details within. The car... Orange! Need I say more! Selective colour worked well! B.
