This past July, Fred and I stopped by for a visit with Bart and his wife, Cathy, at Emerald Lake. They
truly couldn't have picked a more beautiful place to live, although I understand from Bart the long
winters can be a bit hard on a person unless you're a diehard winter enthusiast. After a lovely
dinner, we walked down to the lake and boat launch for a few photos and more wonderful conversation.
The last bit of sunlight was just grazing the peaks when I shot this image and it made for a difficult
exposure. I sure wish I'd shot this using RAW. The Shadow/Highlight tool in PSCS2 did a pretty good
job of opening up the shadows. Image was run thru Picture Cooler to remove some noise and a bit of
warmth was selectively added to the sky and sunlit peak using Nik's Brilliance/Warmth filter. I'm
ambivalent about the composition with the horizon line falling nearly mid-frame...
