Our group had to leave the clouds and first snowstorm in Tromso, Norway to find a clearing for the Northern Lights. We found an area just south of Skibotn (about 2 hours away from Tromso). The intensity was only 1-2 so you could only see color with a camera. We did see the aurora clouds but only appearing as fast forming and fast disappearing grey cloud formations. Now I need to go back to see brighter auroras but it was a great experience. Our guide was great.
