This image is taken with a Hydrogen Alpha filter. This filter only allows light in an extremely narrow band of light around 656 nanometers in the visible light spectrum. This wavelength of light is not near the wavelengths of light that contain any sources of light pollution, regular household lights or even the Moon. This image was taken with the extreme light pollution of a Dallas, TX suburb. These factors have no effect on the image!
