Group portraits are always a compromise, and the more people in the group, the less satisfactory the image is likely to be. It's usually impossible to get everyone with a good expression. Odds increase by taking a number of pictures and sometimes by substituting someone's head from one of the other images if the eyes are closed or the expression is unbecoming.
