56 Dancers in the Air






With this gallery I have attempted to catch "lightning in a bottle"! That is a dancer at the peak of their extension and height!

These dancers had just finished their warm-up on stage and it was 30 minutes until "curtain". I asked them to take turns performing a "Grand Jete". They lined-up in a pecking order only they understood and off they went one after another. I used my canon 5D set at 1250 ISO and 1/160 with my 70-200 f2.8 lens. After that, Lisa suggested a different jump she called the "Kitri" jump. So the dancers lined-up again, and off they went one right after another!

I must say that I did not catch every dancer at the right moment. But all of these dancers DID perform a beautiful jump. So here they are, 56 dancers in the air at one time!

It's so nice to view this gallery on slide show with "1" delay. You can easily figured out how each of them move on their own technique and performance. :)

Superb! You are such a hard man to please. I would be chuffed with shots like these, every one of them, and you just refer to missing the 'lightning in a bottle'. In my opinion you have captured it in every shot. A superb gallery, linked by similarities, defined by differences. Beautiful.

gorgeous dancers. I'm a dancer and these pictures make me want to work harder so i can look just as beautiful as them! dancers truely are the athletes of god.
