Duo Lunaire

What began as a friendship between two established chamber and solo musicians developed into Duo Lunaire: a tightly connected art-music duo of Serbian violinist Danijela Žeželj-Gualdi, and American guitarist John Huston. "We began our collaboration while still in school," explains Ms. Žeželj-Gualdi. "In our early work together I was astonished by our shared response to music, and the excitement of playing together live performances." "We believe in the transformational power of music," says Mr. Huston. "We feel that power when we play together: two very different string instruments combine and fuse in a profound union."

I have photographed Danijela on several ocasions see https://pbase.com/rcalmes/danijela This time the challenge was to photograph the two musicians in a way that symbolizes their shared musical union. These images were made during rehearsal on the stage where they would, one hour later, be performing.

I used my Canon Mark III with Canon 24-105 f4 and my Canon 5D with 70-200 f2.8. Both cameras were set at ISO 1600

Nice shots Richard, the selective focus works well and the lighting set up is great whether live or in studio. It is impossible to tell.
