Daily Classes

I have tried with this gallery to show the quality of instruction these 2000 dancers were given. The teachers were experts in their various disciplines and were also very effective at teacing their skills! The gallery is B&W because I wanted to focus attention on the subject matter of teaching and learning!

All images were made with the Canon 5D at ISO 1600 and the Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS lens.

I am lost for words, these shots are stunning! I just keep on flicking through them and cannot find anything other than awe for them. You have captured the essence. I'd love to comment but one comment will be replicated each time... stunning. I have searched for minor alterations that could be made and for things that I can criticise but I have not succeeded. These are terrific captures that have definitely captured the atmosphere, the ambiance, the mood behind the screens, the faculty at work and the students learning from the mine field of experience that is presented to them on these few days. You have captured it and it is no news that you have done a better job than anyone else could possibly have imagined. I guess that besides a vote on each submission, a big congratulations is in order.

Hehehe, perfecting on perfection. For most people I would have thought that this was not possible but you never cease to amaze me. I have only had the opportunity to browse through the thumbs and just barely managed to resist the temptation to open every one of them up on the screen. The task... or rather, the challenge to pick a favourite... I keep on looking and just can't. So I look for a weak sheep in the flock... and that too, I cannot find. YOU HAVE EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS! And what a terrific choice to present this series in mono. It works and better still, you have captured and portrayed the true essence. Whow...

After awhile one runs out of superlatives so I'll borrow. Both these quotes are applicable to your body of dance images. From Bud Watson, "Few accomplishments are more stunning than a successful photograph" and from Minor White, "Creativity is rooted in a solid grasp of technique".

IMPRESSIVE! Every single image is a winner (excellent editing). Composition. Facial expressions. Storytelling and portrayal of human emotions. Monochrome really works well for this gallery. Every image is worth viewing full size and studying. So when is the book coming out? :-)
