Beautiful Dancers at the Party!






It is the big fundraiser for the spring performances and the dancers are wearing, not tu tu's, but beautiful formalwear! The event is called Backstage Pass and was held on the stage at the Gwinnett Performing Arts Center. There was a professional photographer on hand to handle the people shots so I concentrated on the dancers and how they looked in the stage lighting (no flash of course). I used my Canon 5D set at ISO 1600. I did not use noise reduction in post processing. All images were shot with my trusty Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS.

I am only now discovering a series that I had missed before. I recognise some of the artists but not all of them. Nicole, Garet, Whitney, Sabrina and Jody look stunning as ever. The lighting is great as well and the background shots on the silver screen are typical of the work of the legendary Mr Calmes. The Jody and Mallory shot is one of my personal favourites but that does not mean that the others have not been taken equally well. These are great shots and I hope that this party was not all work for you as this event was also to commemorate the great work performed by artists like yourself. Hehehe, a pro photographer present to take the people shots ehhh. If he got any as good as yours he'll be praising the lord.

Very nice collection of spontaneus portraits.
I like the way to capture and show emotioins and expresison in a not-posed way and I like the effects of light.
