Fonderie De Jn.Bt.Le Dupont - Tarbus (France)

This old 18th century bell was dug up from the ground during an excavation
here in New Jersey (Boonton Township) about 33 years ago. The owner had painted
it red,white & blue and put it on his lawn. While the paint was still drying, I
spotted it - with it's distinctive ancient crown and bought it- I think $100. Many old repairs and cracks,
and can only wonder it's history. 15" high and weight about 60 lbs.
The clapper is gone.
