This was a field trip for the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin (www.wisconservation.org). Trip participants learned how mist-netting and banding are used for research and monitoring of birds, all while getting ID tips and up close views of these amazing creatures. Approximately 40 birds of 15 species were netted, including Swainson's Thrush, Philadelphia Vireo, and 8 species of warblers. All birds were banded by trained researchers who possessed appropriate federal and state permits.
