Ross's x Snow Goose hybrid?

Immature along the Chequamegon Bay shoreline just west of Ashland, Ashland County
September 24, 2007

This bird was slightly smaller to nearly the same size as the Cackling Geese it associated with. This size and its plumage suggest Ross's Goose but the bill shape, color, and distinct grinning patch suggest some Snow Goose influence.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Yeah, I'd agree that grin patch makes this unlikely to be a pure Ross's. I vote hybrid.
