Chequamegon Bay shoreline, Ashland, 1 Dec 2005
Took this photo at dusk but you can see heavy mottling on the secondary coverts, lightly marked upperparts (white triangle), and a very white head. The breast was finely barred with a moderately sized bib. The bird also appeared relatively small.
