RTHA subspecies is always tricky. This one fits Krider's best according to Jerry Liguori: "It is a Krider's type -- It has slightly reddish upperwing coverts with whitish mottling (light adult Harlan's are restricted to scapulars, and darker cold-brown topsides. Has fully red tail with neat sub-terminal (which occurs on "partial Krider's" for lack of a better term), buffy-white underside (even in spring, instead of snow-white), and face and head is extensively white instead of just around the eye (which is better for Krider's, but not out of the range of some adult Harlan's (juvs show this more often). The remiges are sort of brokenly banded but not mottled, which is seen on many Krider's...."
