Hi Guest No I did not use hdr techniques with this photograph, in fact I have never tried using hdr methods as yet, interesting though they are. I only carefully use the run of the mill normal Burn and Dodge forcing techniques that go back to my old chemical/optical darkroom days of many years ago !! This way I can force out the sky detail somewhat more, and get a little more detail in those inevitable deep shadows, especially in the harsh lighting you often get here in Thailand. Either way the detail has to be there in the first place of course and I give so much credit not only to the Canon EOS350D camera but to the superb EF 24-105 mm f4 L lens (which is my friends and one I borrow off of him now and again). I must buy my own but upgrading my EF 70-200 f4L to a EF 70-200 f2.8 L IS version is priority for me.
