12-JUL-2014 Ray Avera

This is the bottom fins of a fireworks rocket that we shot off on the 4th. We found this bottom half buried about an inch deep in pretty hard dirt. It was about 140yds. away from where we set it off.
Took us two days to find it although I took this picture a week later. We weren't looking far enough away. Even so, if it had been 10ft. left or right it would have been lost.
The top half with the red nose cone may show up this winter when everything is dead and I can look better. Good thing it didn't go straight up and down.
