This is me trying to become a maiko for just a few hours in historic Kyoto, just 15 days back. I think the pictures look hilarious because I'm obviously not Japanese! While doing the make-up, they drew the eyebrow much shorter and above my natural eyebrow. It was an exciting, out-of-this-world experience. :) Walking the streets, people would take my pictures and an old couple apparently even wondered if I was a doll - my Japanese friend told me. :P
