Each summer the Wessslen girls (Sara’s three sisters) try to get together for a family reunion. This summer it was held at the Schultz house on Saturday, July 24. We had a beautiful day with Sara’s sister Mary (Cantwell) traveling from Cincinnati with her husband Dick. Sara second sister Rita (Guden) Chippewa Fall and Ken attend after a summer vacation down the Mississippi River. Finally and with much regret Sara’s sister Ann (Kaiser) Bloomer, WI had a dental emergency and was unable to attend.

Also Sara’s nephew Matt (Guden) St. Paul and his wife Patty joined us. Sara’s nephew Tommy (Cantwell) Naperville, IL and his wife Cornelia and family joined in the celebration. Their daughter Anna and son Tommy jr. had a great time playing with Sara’s nephew Jon (Guden) Fayetteville, North Carolina and wife Jeannie’s daughter Catherine and son Nicholas and baby Christopher.

The day was spent outside with good food and great conversation.
How can things not be grand with cold Lennie’s beer and those great Wisconsin brats.

A spirited game of Bocci Ball developed with Tommy and John “whipping butt” as they say. Don took all the kids on several wagon rides behind the John Deere Garden tractor while Sara took Mary, Rita and Cornelia for a ride in her new convertible. They proceeded to get very lost in the beautiful back roads of New Glarus and Mt. Horeb. After directions from a motor cycle gang at a Pine Bluff bar, (Hi guys, this is my new convertible and these are my sisters, and we are lost!!!!! Giggle-giggle except for Cornelia who was pregnant young enough to be everyone else’s daughter) the crew arrived several hours later…………
