      | I've been taking photos with a Pentax K1000 off and on since I was a kid. Took it and my new (then) ME Super with me when I enlisted in '84. I took copious pictures over the years with them both until the ME was stolen in '92 at flight school. I got my first real digital (Sony F707) just before I left for Afghanistan. When I got back from Iraq the first time, I purchased a Canon 10D and some glass. I took that back into Iraq for my third combat tour. I upgraded to a 40D and another telephoto lense.
These pictures are an attempt to share with my family and friends what it was like flying in these far off places. There were quite a few times when words (Marine grunting) and rapid hand gestures failed to describe the view. I found pictures will do in a pinch.

The rest of the galleries are attempts to improve my hobby and what has become a small passion.
