The pattern of the mother of pearl on this abalone isn't as striking as some of the others that I have gotten. It has sentimental value to me because this is the very first legal size abalone that I was able to pick free diving. The abalone was only 7 1/2 inch at it's widest not a trophy pick by any means but very delicious just the same. It was harvested about 1/2 mile south of VanDamm cove
