2013/early 2014 is supposed to be a year of maximum solar cycle activity which occurs on average every 11 years. On March 16,2013 we were graced with an opportunity to witness a rare magnificent display of the Aurora Borealis from a major CME that occurred on 3/15/2013 with a 6.7 Kp level that lasted for hours.
