Vietnamese Orphanage

While serving as a Chaplain's assistant I was fortunate to be able to visit a Vietnamese orphanage. Churches back in 'the world' would send donations for the orphanage. I remember going to the American Express office, actually a trailer, to convert the American funds to Piaster, Vietnam Funds. I don't have many specific memories of the kids. I do remember the kids eating in their 'cafeteria' however. That was quite a buzz of activity. Those chop sticks were quickly scooping rice into those little mouths. We ate a very nice meal with the minister and his family, the family running the orphanage. The first thing that struck me as we entered the dining room was the Coca-Cola by each plate. The food was rather strange and different but a real treat to experience.
