Little Corella pair

Perched on our garage roof, the male on the left and the female on the right. The female has her head turned looking out her left eye as the right has been badly damaged and has no sight.
These birds mate for life and have been coming to our garden for seven years now, visiting most days from the start of Spring till December. They perch on the kitchen window sill and peer in to let Barbara know they are there and waiting for some sunflower seeds.
They get quite excited when they see us and call to us when they arrive and have a special sound they make when they are leaving each day.

Lovely shot. Great control of the whites. Strange to see birds like that in the wild. We only see them in captivity. Very touching story too. V

A special treat! These birds a obviously very intelligent and know where to come for a meal. I live with a couple of hookbills who call me by name when they want food! V
