Wow! Mantis heaven. The year I hatched my mantid ootheca we had NO aphids. It had been a very severely cold spring and many insects just didn't make it. I went to neighbors begging for aphids! I was inexperienced with the whole process of growing these babies and hadn't prepared some flightless fruit fly cultures to have a constand source of food for them. She did some very creative things with them. Kept some adults in a fish tank for a long time.
