I love earthshine :-)
Earthshine is when the light of the sun is reflected off the earth and lights the dark side of the moon (great album). You can only see it when the moon is a thin crescent shortly after sunset or before sunrise.
The mountain on the horizon to the left is the highest in the Australian Capital Territory, Mount Bimberi. It is quite inaccesable and gets a decent, for Australia, cover of snow every year.
