I took this photo in May, 2005; beyond that fact, I do not have specific information for dating your photo. I believe that there were two fences: the first to restrain visitors, and the second visible in this photo. I recall that the visible fence was quite close to the sculpture.

Perhaps you could post your photo on the internet and request comments. You could look at photos in books, in which case the publication dates and perhaps photo credits could help. Someone who works at the church may remember when the closer fence was added. If you know someone who is going to Rome, maybe you could get that person to ask in the church. Also, I got the impression that there are some very good historians in Rome; perhaps you could contact one through a museum web site.

I have a large black and white photograph of the entire bottom half of this tomb. The fence in my picture is different from the ones I see on all the internet pictures of Moses. I'm trying to find out how old my picture is, but so far I've been unable to. Can you advise how I may obtain information as to when the fence in this picture was erected? Thank you
