Eine Schweizer Eisenbahn / A Swiss Railway - in May 2007

Im Kanton Graubünden befindet sich eine der schönsten Eisenbahnlandschaften der Welt. Die roten Züge der privaten Rhaetischen Bahn überwinden grosse Hoehenunterschiede durch Kehrtunnel und kurvenreiche Strecken über hohe Viadukte auf einer Spurweite von nur 1 Meter. Erstaunlich ist besonders, dass diese Bauwerke alle um 1900 hergestellt wurden. Wir wohnten an einem der schönsten Teilen der Strecke, in Filisur, zwischen Chur und St. Moritz. Im Winter wäre es dort bestimmt noch malerischer, aber fuer mich zu kalt.

In Switzerland's state of Graubuenden you will find one of the world's most attractive railway systems. The red narrow guage trains of the private "Rhaetische Bahn" wind their way through the mountains over spectacular viaducts and gain or lose altitude through spiral tunnels. We stayed at one of the most interesting parts of the route from Chur to St. Moritz at Filisur. Probably it would be more spectacular in Winter, but also too cold for me.
