We miss you Ralph and look forward to seeing you someday again soon enough. Thanks for sharing you GOD giving talents and engery with us so that we may wonder the beauty of our good old cuntry comfort. Later, TDD
Bill, there is a road to the knob on the Virginia side of the mountain. Unless there has been recent torrential rain that ruts the road you can easily get there in a car. You first have to get yourself to Clintwood, VA. Coming from Kentucky and once in Clintwood going east on Rt. 83 turn left at the first traffic light onto Brush Creek Road. A Rite-Aid store is at the intersection. Follow that road for about 2 miles, cross Pound River bridge and then turn right on to South Of The Mountain Road. Stay on that road for about 3 miles then turn left on to the Birch Knob road. If you get lost anywhere on the way just stop and ask someone for directions. The folks around here are friendly and will gladly help you. Thanks for visiting the gallery and leaving the comment.
Judith, I'm sorry you are having trouble seeing the images because they appear too small on your screen. I would suggest checking your screen resolution settings to see what they are set at. I would recommend a resolution of 800X600. That should make the images appear larger on your screen.

These photos are wonderful. I love them! I moved away from home a year ago, and long for the gorgeous array of Fall Colors the mountains have. Thank you for sharing these. It takes me right back to the places I love the most.

Thank you for the beautiful shots of my great State and Birch Knob. I am a displqced person from Dickinson and Wise Counties and have never been to Birch Knob but have heard so much about it. My legs wouldn't take me up there now so thank you for the journey. I can now visualize it anytime I want to. James Mullins

Most beautiful photos of God's Masterpiece I have seen since leaving Clintwood in 1955. In traveling the world over from Europe to Asia, Mexico to Greenland nothing has ever compared to this. Thank You!!!

Great capture of autumn's color. Good to see the reds and yellows pop in contrast to the green.
This looks all too familiar to me as I am from KY. Keep up the nice shots!
