It's me again. I do publicity and outreach and coordinate the volunteer program at Untermyer Gardens. In the former capacity I am writing to let you know that we have a program of private tours every year from late April to early November. These are 90 minute docent led tours through this 43 acre National Landmark designated property on the Hudson River. It was a 150 acre private estate with world famous gardens in the early 20th century. The gardens have been undergoing renovation since 2011 and they are really outstanding. There is also very interesting history and architecture associated with the property. It makes a great trip for a garden club group. If you were already here a few years ago, it's worth another visit: so much has changed! If you would be coming from far away there are several other beautiful gardens nearby that you could probably tour the same day. There are also unreserved public tours every Sunday April-Nov and of course you can visit for free at any time as individuals. I'd encourage you to take a look at the website untermyergardens.org and if you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them. I hope you'll consider a visit in 2018. If you'd like more particulars about scheduling a tour (dates, prices, etc) the contact person is Jennie Bernard: jbernard@untermyergardens.org or 914 613-4502. My info is Batya Gorin: bgorinmd@gmail.com or 914 912-1978. Thank you for your time.

Hello. I’m writing on behalf of the Untermyer Gardens Conservancy in Yonkers, NY. I’m writing because your garden club is probably working on programming for the 2015 season around now, and I wanted to let you know that we provide 90 minute docent led tours for private groups from April to November.
You may or may not have heard of us. Originally known as Greystone, Untermyer Gardens was a private estate in the 1920’s and 1930’s with world famous gardens. Of the original 150 acres, 43 remain today as a public park. Since 2011 these National Landmark gardens have been undergoing a major restoration effort. There are new beautiful plantings in the large Persian garden, a huge rock folly, Vista steps, beautiful Greek architecture, sculptures, impressive mosaics, views of the Hudson River and Palisades and a very interesting history. Each year additional areas of the gardens are being restored. Even if you’ve visited before, consider another visit: from one season to the next and from year to year the gardens are always changing and evolving. The website, untermyergardens.org is loaded with photos and information and is well worth a look.
If you think you may be interested in arranging a tour for your group for 2015, 2016 or later, or just want more information, please contact Timothy Tilghman, the horticulturist, at ttilghman@untermyergardens.org or 914 512-0436. We are also looking to recruit some more docents and will be providing training sessions in late Winter/early Spring. Anyone interested should contact me (bgorinmd@gmail.com) or Timothy.
Thank you for your time. Batya Gorin Docent Coordinator
