Malachy McCourt speaking at the Woodstock Library

Malachy McCourt, Green Party candidate for Governor of New York, spoke at the Woodstock, NY library on Saturday, August 26, 2006. Malachy advocates bringing the National Guard back to NY, getting rid of no child left behind and the tests, abolishing the death penalty, using solar, wind and waves to generate power and unhook from oil, along with healthy lunches in schools.

Malachy’s position on war is best summed in a quote “There is no such thing as a just war because in all wars, the majority of people who are killed are innocent. We need to resolve our differences and difficulties by peaceful methods.” http://www.m4gov.com

Malachy announced his intention to seek the Green Party’s candidacy for Governor at a fund raiser for radio station WBAI at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, NY on April 30, 2006. I was able to photograph the event https://pbase.com/rakelly/cac043006 and to share the photographs, in joint copyright, with both the Green Party and the Cinema Arts Centre. The Green party took two of the photographs and made tee shirts which are for sale at http://www.cafepress.com/robertakelly
Proceeds from the sales go to the Malachy for Governor campaign.
