Fall Web Worm

The Fall Webworm - hyphantria cunea - can be seen all along roadsides in Iowa this time of year.
These little pests build ugly webs that serve to protect them from being eaten by birds. They don't really hurt the trees (except aesthetically) and eventually turn into the brilliant White Tiger Moth.
