Whilst usually not the best you never forget your first time!
So it was with Mallorca which in the 1990s was my first foreign birding experience. More recently it became the first foreign venue where I took bird images.
Mallorca has a lot to offer in terms of varied habitat combined with a solid tourist infrastructure that makes it an easy-going destination. The best base for birding is undoubtedly in the north at Puerto Pollensa -handy for Formentor, the Albufera & the western mountains.
