Note the brownish tint to the wings & the diffuse juncture of the breast-band with the ventral barring (hard to see in this image)-all typical of a female.
This bird was carefully watching the activities of the local Meadow Pipits & periodically would fly down into a tussock disappearing from view for a few minutes before flying up onto the next section of powerline -in this way it covered about 2km of ground in just over an hour!
