The kelpie is a mystical shape-shifting water horse from Celtic folklore that is believed to haunt the rivers and lochs of Scotland. These are the very same rivers & lochs that are the breeding haunt of Common Sandpipers. It seems only appropriate that these wee waders should, on their wintering grounds, interact with Africa's river horse!
