This image catches the last moment of a young wildebeeste's life. The wildebeeste was the last in a small group which were fleeing up the river from two young male lions who were positioned downstream. The group left the relative safety of the river to break off through a passageway in the banking when a lioness exploded out of nowhere to grab the unfortunate gnu.
The action was unexpected & happened so fast that I was unable to catch any but this image.
