Common Sandpiper

River Findhorn, Strathdearn

In celtic mythology the rivers of Scotland are the home of a shape-shifting Water-horse known as the Kelpie. I have yet to see a Kelpie but I have seen a sandpiper on the back of a river-horse! (see: http://www.pbase.com/rainbirder/image/92621113 ).
