This waterfall is now a remnant of its former glory as most of the water is diverted to a hydro-electric plant.
Once it was a mighty cataract, immortalised by William Wordsworth who called it the Clyde's " most majestic daughter". It was also the subject of legend -the story being that the Linn (waterfall)was named after Cora, a celtic princess who rode over the falls to her death on hearing of the loss of her lover in battle.
