Yellow-billed Kites (Milvus aegyptius parasitus) roosting @ sunset

Makasutu

Deep in the Mandiina Bolong there is an extensive area of tall mangrove forest which holds a massive extended roost of Yellow-billed & Black Kites.
The owners of the Mandina lodges were kind enough to take us on an evening boat trip to the Kite roost -all in all a fantastic experience. The Mandina Bolong also holds large numbers of Ospreys, Herons/Egrets, waders & Kingfishers. Judging by the large flights of Egrets at dawn & dusk there must also be a massive Egret roost hidden somewhere deep in the mangroves.
