Red-throated Bee-eater (Merops bullocki) colony

There is a large colony of Red-throated Bee-eaters in a derelict sand quarry on the edge of Bansang village. The colony is active throughout the year whilst the lowermost area of the old quarry is now a seasonal water hole holding water well into the dry season -attracting thirsty passerines, Sandgrouse & raptors.
