We began & ended our Costa Rican holiday in Guanacaste spending our first night at a ranch (Guachepelin) & our last week on a beach hotel on the Golfo de Papagayo from where we did day trips to Rincon de la Vieja, Palo Verde, Santa Rosa & Bijagua. Guanacaste is the driest province in Costa Rica & as such it holds a more limited but very different range of birds from the Caribbean side of the country.
