Trinidad 2-08
A weekend around Central Washington on Pres Day 2008
Westbound at Cashmere on Sunday morning.
An eastbound at Trinidad Loop.
The side road conditions were wet clay, with some gravel in spots making a great concrete mix.
An afternoon along the Columbia River, waiting for trains at Albus siding.
A westbound goes by, when I wanted an east.
Another west train.
Beautiful and peaceful scenery helps during the wait
Ripples on the river.
A fresh GE heads up grade on Monday morning at West Quincy.
I drove up Rock Island Grade Road to check out the view.
The Spud Local heads east at Rock Island.
West Trinidad, with an eastbound heading upgrade in the distance.
The eastbound pulling through the west switch.
The east man stopped and a westbound slowly pulled up the west switch. The eastbound headed right on out.
The west train remained stopped while the Spud Local rolled by on the mainline.
Rolling "art."
A westbound west of Trinidad Loop.
An eastbound exits the loop.
Back at Albus along the Columbia River east of Rock Island.
A westbound east of Trinidad siding.
Heading eastbound up the grade and rounding the loop.
Former Great Northern signals lay dead at west Trinidad.
Monday night should usually be an easy drive home, but since it was a three day weekend for some, there was a huge traffic jam.
